    Career Opportunities After B.Tech

Just after graduation, it is likely that most of the students are confused about what they will be doing next. B.Tech, being a professional course has great placement opportunities but doing a job after your graduation is not the only option available.
There are many other options that can be pursued by the students after completing their B.Tech:

    1. Opt for Higher Education :

Most of the students after completing their B.Tech usually go for M.Tech that allows them to expertise their preferred field and excel in it. Depending upon your interest you could even go for M.sc or any other diploma courses.
If you believe that M.Tech is not your cup of tea, then there are various short term courses that you can opt for any for adding some specialized qualification to your resume. Top engineering colleges like Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs) and other CFTIs grant admissions on the basis of GATE score. However, several private universities along with accepting the GATE score conduct their own Entrance Exam for granting admissions into various M.Tech courses.

    2. Be your Own Boss - Entrepreneurship :

One of the best options would be to start off your own business just after completing your graduation. It gives you the freedom to express your creativity and ideas. However, this path is not all sunshine and rainbows. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication to start your own business. If you have enough capital and a great business idea, then entrepreneurship could be the best thing that you could opt for. Most importantly, this option should not be considered as a way to become rich and popular in less time which is not always possible.  There would be frequent challenges in your path with ups and downs that you need to overcome.

    3. Switch to Business Management Domain :

If business and management have ever been an interesting field for you and if you have ever felt that engineering was never your true call then it is never too late to switch over to what you feel is the right path for you.
MBA is a largely pursued course in India and has a lot of scopes. Fields like Marketing, Human Resource, Digital Marketing, Sales, International Relations and are some of the most popular and preferred specializations. For getting into IIMs and other top management institutes you need to qualify CAT (Common Admission Test) with excellent percentile. Various top private institutes offer Management courses through their own Admission Test like XAT (Xavier's), NMAT, SNAP, CMAT, TISS, IRMA and more.

    4. Studying Abroad :

If you are willing to explore and experience an entirely new culture while studying then opting universities abroad for pursuing higher education could be the best option.
Along with your studies, you could even check the availability of various fellowships in categories like Research and Development. You need to qualify exams like TOEFL and GRE if you aim for studying abroad. On the basis of your TOEFL and GRE scores, scholarships are also provided for full or half funding of the education.

    5. Prepare for Civil Services:

The Civil Service Examination is one of the toughest and most attempted competitive examinations and you should not give up trying just because of its difficulty and competition level. For cracking such a highly competitive exam you need to be highly focussed towards your studies and you should develop the spirit of never giving up.
Engineering graduates can also apply for IES exam in addition to the civil services.
A government job could safeguard your future with better facilities. After qualifying the examination, an interview would be conducted which you would have to qualify before proceeding for training.
